Ger Farrell has painted all her life and has developed her own distinctive style. She paints solely with a palette knife which gives her work a three dimensional sculptural rendering. Her paintings possess an expressiveness which allows the viewer to notice the strength and layers of paint applied by the artist. Ger spends a lot of her time in Portugal, the South of France and Tuscany. It is while travelling in these countries that she finds the source of inspiration for her work. Fields of sunflowers, poppies, villas by the sea, farmhouses and flowerbeds all reflect the colourful landscapes that she experiences. Her vibrant use of colour makes her paintings extremely appealing.
